As of October 7, 2026, the median 8K TV on BuyPerUnit is $59.03/inch — about 5.3× the $11.07/inch median for 4K LED — across only 16 in-stock models. With almost no native 8K content and 4K upscaling doing the work either way, that premium buys future-proofing, not a visible upgrade today. For most buyers a larger 4K set is the better use of the money.
