1. Bigger Screens Win on $/Inch
A 65-inch 8K at $900 ($13.85/in) beats a 55-inch at $800 ($14.55/in) in value. Per-inch cost falls as screen size increases — sizing up almost always pays off.
2. Match Panel to Your Room
8K resolution is only visible under 5 feet from a 65-inch screen. At typical viewing distances (8–12 ft), 4K content upscaled to 8K looks identical to native 4K.
3. Compare Retailers, Not Just Models
The same 65-inch 8K can vary $200–$400 between Amazon, Best Buy, and Newegg. BuyPerUnit shows all three retailers ranked by $/inch so you always pay the lowest price.

How BuyPerUnit Calculates $/Inch for TVs
BuyPerUnit divides the current retail price by the TV's actual screen diagonal in inches (the "Class" measurement, not the marketing size). A 65-inch Class TV with a 64.5-inch diagonal retailing at $1,300 costs $1,300 ÷ 64.5 = $20.16/inch. TVs are grouped into four tiers — 4K OLED, 4K QLED, 4K LED, and 8K — and ranked by $/inch within each tier for apples-to-apples comparison.
